Okay, the first workout is down and boy am I beat. I had it set on hard with a month long goal of 6000 calories. Halfway through the workout, I "knew" that I had made a mistake. Twenty minutes into a 40 minute long workout, sweat pouring off me, my future with this project looked bleak. My muscle were screaming, my heart was pounding and I had already put down half of my quart sized bottle of water.
Now that I have finished my first workout, I feel alot better about it. For the first day, it set my projected burn at 262.1 calories. I pushed hard through the running, squats, curls and boxing (which is my favorite so far) and got a good total body work out and even earned a gold medal for the day. In total I did 18 sets of exercises, over 40 minutes and burned 312.5 calories, overshooting my goal by 50.4 calories.
I had alot of fun with it, and if I can keep up this level of intensity with it, I will see some major results.
I did some basic measurements at work yesterday so here is where I am starting from.
- 235lbs (darn, put 7 back on)
- 74 resting heart rate
- 124/86 bp
- 27.9 BMI
Also, I need a tan..
So, not a bad start. I have a decent level of fitness as is and I am getting my sugar intake under control (probably the next most important part of this process after cutting calories and working out). Like I said, this workout isn't the whole answer to my pudding like state. But it is a good second step. In a few months I will try my hand at p90x and then hopefully move into insanity pretty quickly thereafter.
Brick by brick.
