Yesterday was day 4, the first day after resting and both of the last two days were marked by soreness. I've been surprised how vigorous the workout has been, and how much I have sweated, strained, pushed and accomplished. The first major accomplishment was just coming back and working out a second time. Also I was very tempted to take last night off due to exhaustion and do a morning and evening work out today. Fortunately I stuck to it and "hit the gym" anyway.
Last night's projected burn was another in the low 200's, 213.5 to be exact. I I don't think I am ever going to not be disappointed when they set a bar that low while I have set the bar for 6000 calories this month. I heard that there is a point in a week and a half when the game increases the intensity of the exercises, I assume that is why there are low projections now, and expect 400 calorie burn days in the future.
I am on the verge of my first 1000 calories, 48 to go, and am definitely feeling ... something in my muscles. the soreness is gone today, but I feel a bit tighter, springier. I can't wait to get to the point where I am having to add resistance bands and wrist/ankle weights to what I am using already. I feel pretty confident after 4 days and 3 workouts that I can handle this program. I will probably do this 30 days a couple of times and then expand to the EA Sports Active "more workouts" package in August. After a few rounds through their 6 week challenge I want to expend to the 2.0 version and then by the beginning of the year start P90X. At that pace, I could be finishing insanity in a year.
Jenn had a great idea for a geek fitness program. Have the workouts be something like a Zelda game where you have to run/jump/fight and work your way through the game. I would play that.
