I've been getting myself pumped up to start the next phase of my "Master Plan". In December, December 27th to be exact, I began to diet pretty rigorously. At first I was counting every calorie to see how much weight I could trim off of my 262 lbs weigh in. After a few months I cut 34 lbs. This was strictly dieting. I had a slight increase in activity, playing more often with my son, who now that he is becoming a toddler is much more able to play with you.
But that was only one part of the equation. It is a two fold process, Diet and exercise. Now, I did the first, but I never touched the second. I was far too busy, in school full time, working more than full time, building my very own baby ulcers along the way. Now that my time is freeing up, I need something to fill it. I am going to be working on the second half of my strategy; exercise.
I already talked a bit about my geek workout, using the same machine that I battle for the triforce upon, I am going to start sweatin' to the oldies... or more likely sweating to whatever is playing on my Zune at that time. And now as equipment has started trickling in, I can't wait until the box containing the game itself arrives.
So far I've received:
- the extra resistance bands
- the wireless nunchuck and pouch
I am waiting on:
- the boxing gloves
- the game
The balance board is optional, and will be a future purchase. There is an expansion, but I am going to run through the basic game before I expand. Hopefully by the time I finish the expansion to this version EA Sports Active 2.0 will be hitting the stores.
Eventually I am going to try my hand at P90X, but for now, I am not quite that intense. I am definitely not anywhere near the level of Insanity. Someday, I would like to be. I want to be able to out pace my kid for many years to come.
So, Until the game gets here, I am going to keep the excitement simmering. Time to read other people's 30 day challenge blogs
