I've got to confess, I almost filed this under ZEN. We now have a functional laptop that I can crank out entries from anywhere in the house, even from the floor next to Jack. Right now I am splayed out on the couch watching Jenn and Jack play on his little jungle 'Lay and Play'. I am once more unbound from the family desk, where I am much less likely to write anything at all.
Life has been good lately, good enough to write about and good enough to not write about. My birthday has come and gone. It feels a bit like divine providence to share a day with St. Max. He is a great patron and more than just slightly inspirational in my journey to Catholicism just seven short years ago.
I'm taking yet another crack at 24. Every year it gets better and better. This year we 'rang in the new year' with a ball game and steak. The steak was good and the game was a great time. The benches cleared at one point and our center fielder hit for the cycle and got his 1500th hit in the same at bat.
This is my first 24th year with a son and it's gotten me thinking about what I was like when I was a kid... the things that I believed about the world, things that I loved and things that I was (usually, erroneously) afraid of.
Now that our macbook is back in service, we can continue the conversation. I'm looking forward to it. Now where were we at?
