You know those days where you wake up to the alarm after the baby screamed all night long. Then you go stand in line for hours to get through one thing after the other only to come home exhausted and frustrated?
My weekend was nothing like that.
Jack decided that he was going to sleep all night long, and when we woke up, the alarm clock still had a few minutes left before it would ring. Since it was time to get Jack's picture with Santa, Jenn and I took him to the Aquarium (almost empty) to see Jolly Ol' Saint Nick. We waked right up, got a great shot of Jack on his knee and went to see some fish. We started off with the Belugas (not fish, but bear with me) finding the window at the back side of the tank was accessible. We sat down at the glass of the tank with no crowd of people and a couple of whales that kept swimming right up to us. It was quiet enough that we could hear their chirping.
Next we went to see the Otters and they were playing right in front of us. It was great. The Female, Gracie, is one of Jenn's favorite animals of all time. I think that her tendancy to suck her thumb while swimming on her back puts her very high on the list.
Finally, we snuck into the Ocean Voyager to see the new Manta Ray that just went on display. The whole tank was very active, and I was glad to see that the Manta Ray was spending lots of time in view.
On the way back to our car, we stopped in for burgers at Johnny Rockets and danced around with Jack to the tune of Elvis and Aretha songs. After that we spent a quet evening in just relaxing and getting ready for the rest of the Christmas season.
It was a great day.
